The management team of 4x4 Megaworld is made up of a dynamic team of people with a love and a passion for the 4x4 industry. They all have a huge amount of technical experience between them and you can always expect the best advise and service. Here is an introduction to the senior staff and management:

Deon Venter - CEO
Deon was born in Aliwal North and attended Milner High School in Klerksdorp where he also matriculated. In 1988 he married his wife Beverly and they have two sons, Jason and Dylan.
Deon has always been an entrepreneur and started up his own business through which he met Colin Fitzgerald. He soon became the ARB dealer in the North West Province.
In 2005 he joined Desert Cool, the holding company of 4x4x Megaworld, and worked his way up into the position as CEO.
Deon is a bit of an adrenalin junky and enjoys off road racing bikes and cars as well as mountain bikes. He currently competes in the Absa Off Road Series.
According to Deon his favourite car is one with a Toyota badge on it!
His favourite holiday destination is Sodwana and his favourite 4x4 destination the Namib Desert. |

Marc Nijs - Director
Marc was born in Belgium and moved to South Africa with his parents arriving here in March 1982. After matriculating he completed his military training. He got married in March 1997 and has two boys, Alex and Jordan.
He became involved in the 4x4 industry in 1994 after a close friend invited him on a Land Rover outing sponsored by Captain Morgan, they spent two weeks in the Kalahari.According to Marc the lifestyle really appealed to him so much that he joined Safari Centre in May 1994 becoming sales manager.
In July 1998 he joined Colin Fitzgerald at Desert Cool. The business started out small and has subsequently grown to the huge success it is today.
He is currently responsible for the dealer network and orders from overseas suppliers. |

Marilu Di Santolo – Director
Marilu was born in 1970 in Johannesburg the eldest of 3 children fro parents that originated from Italy.
She matriculated in 1987 at Assumption Convent. Studies in Marketing Management and Public Relations followed.
Her career started with Unisys which is a worldwide technology services and solutions company mainly in business support. She also worked for the Small Business Development Corporation in the marketing department.
In 1998 she started her employment at ARB Africa owned by Colin Fitzgerald and her duties included maintaining clients based throughout Africa and also general sales. Colin acquired the agency as sole importer and distributor of Engel portable fridges in 1999/2000. In 2006/2007 she was appointed Human Resources Manager attending to more than 100 staff members.
She is currently completing a B com legal degree. |

Danie Jansen van Vuuren – Financial Manager
Danie was born in Johannesburg in 1973.
In 1991 he matriculated from Dr Malan High School. He was also head boy prefect.From 1992-1994 he studied at the then Rand Afrikaans University and received his B com degree at the end of 1994.
In 1995 he started his career with Vitro Tiles and then moved on to Clotan Steel where he worked as bookkeeper.January 200 saw Danie work as senior accountant for Republiek Voedsel (Pty) Ltd with 45 Kentucky Franchises.
In March 2006 Danie joined 4x4 Megaworld as Group Financial Manager responsible for the day to day running of the group’s finances. This in itself is a daunting task especially in the current economic climate.
His motto comes from Dr Martin Luther King Jr: “The true measure of a man is not how he behaves in moments of comfort and convenience but how he stands at times of controversy and challenges.”

Craig Moffat – Exports
Craig was born in Pietermaritzburg and is still an avid Shark supporter with his mother still residing in the last outpost! He is the eldest of 3 children. He matriculated in 1984 at Wartburg Kirchdorf High School where he played 1st team rugby and got colours for athletics, cricket and swimming. He completed his 2 years military training and joined the South African Police and left the service in 1993.
He joined Safari Centre and bought his first 4x4, a Toyota Hilux 2.2, the original legend! In March 2002 he joined 4x4 Megaworld.
Craig is currently one of the senior managers and his responsibility is servicing an existing network of dealers throughout Africa and to develop new ones. |

Richard Giller – Advertising, Sales and Technical
Richard was born in Chelmsford UK in 1959.
He worked in sales and marketing for Chrysler UK which then became Peugeot UK and moved on to General Accident Property Services.Deciding to take a year off he drove overland from the UK to South Africa with the intention of going to Australia. He also set up the Safari Off Road Training Centre as he was a trained and qualified 4x4 instructor in the UK. With the help of Colin Fitzgerald the centre was relocated to the Henops River Valley in 1998 but due to the death of his partner, it was closed in 2004.
Richard joined 4x4 Megaworld full time in 2001. He is currently based in Cape Town where he coordinates the layouts of national advertising, provincial promotions, sales and technical refrigeration enquiries. |

Peter Difford – Technical Manager
Peter was born on 4th June 1951 and spent his youth mostly in the western Transvaal.
He attended Park Town Boys High and moved on the Naval Academy in Simonstown. His life skills range from Hotel Management, clothing industry, motor industry and own business to 4x4 Megaworld where he has been for the last 14 years.
Peter is responsible for handling technical enquiries, technical training, warranties and various other duties.
His hobbies include breeding and showing welsh ponies and being involved in the 4x4 Megaworld Off Road Racing Team. |
