Celebrating freedom past in Southern Sudan

Celebrating freedom past in Southern Sudan

Freedom Lost

Five years ago we had taken inflatable boats down the Nile from Uganda’s Murchison Falls to Juba – On the doors of the Land Rovers were the decals of the flag of the newest country on earth.

After 30 years of war what a celebration and one that we were so proud to be part of – now 5 years later the independence day celebrations have been cancelled, bullets are flying in Juba, foreign nationals are being evacuated and president Obama has deployed American forces to protects its embassy and staff. 100’s have been killed in clashes around the country and refugees are pouring into neighboring countries. But we will stick to our objective to reach Southern Ethiopia and Chew Bahir.

Africa, all good and all bad all at the same time!
