FROM THE BOOT OF A CAR...

4x4 Megaworld is the result of the entrepreneurial skills of Australian born Colin Fitzgerald. Some 15 years ago Colin was asked by ARB Australia to set up a distribution in Africa, so armed with a set of Old Man Emu Shocks he took the challenge and entered a country begging for good suspension for use on their treacherous roads.

Colin has been involved in the 4x4 Market since the age of 6 when he was given his first Series 1 by is father. Colin’s parents lived in and ran a 1.5 million acre sheep and cattle station in Western Australia. With terrain from Mud, rock and sand learning to drive a 4x4 was definitely required. He has always owned 4x4’s ranging from Toyota Land Cruisers, Nissan, Land Rover, Jeeps, Austin Champs Suzukis and many more.

He currently owns a Land Cruiser and still a Series 1Land Rover. He generally hates tar roads and prefers nothing more than heading out into the bush and sitting by the fire with nothing but the stars above.

Whilst working in South Africa Colin met a true “Boere Meisie” who has taught him some truly South African cultural experiences and also managed to convince him that there is only one Rugby team. Colin is a proud supporter of the Springboks, which funnily enough is where his wife originates from.

Colin insists on stocking only quality products for the 4x4 and camping and Outdoor Market. With the increasing healthy competition on the market he assures his staff and his customers that his main line of products are the best.

Now with a management team under Deon Venter 4x4 Megaworld has grown over the past 14 years from a 1 Man band delivering shocks from the boot of a car to now relying on over 120 personnel to service the growing 4x4 Market in South Africa, ensuring great customer satisfaction and assisting in the success of 4x4 Megaworld Branches over the country.
