On the old Elandsvlei farm, Kliphuiskloof is a rough circular trail around the Tankwa and Tra-Tra rivers that flow into the Doring River. The very rocky terrain offers great mountain-driving opportunities. Although it starts off fairly easy-going, the route changes dramatically for some serious on-the-edge driving. It’s not for the faint hearted as there are loads of toe-curling moments while you cling to the side of the mountain.
There are lots of viewpoints and the riverbed is a great overnight camping spot.
Take the R355 from Ceres and turn left at the Elandsvlei turnoff.
